Hmm let’s see. This is more of a general character design tip, but avoid repetition and bland design. Practice unique facial structure and body types, don’t rely on things like markings or crazy hair or even species to differentiate your characters.

Also, when designing anthro characters less is more. This is more of a personal preference but practice subtely in design.

As far as general tips, you need a good eye for drawing fur. think about the general curve the fur follows before you draw it. Another thing that I love about furry art is there’s more room to practice texture. This is something I need to work on. Try a variety of fur and skin styles! (Shaggy, short, wavy, scales, leathery)
